UpStart Commerce is a startup focused on building a next generation platform to support retail and eCommerce merchants. The technology is founded on the principles of reactive design and micro-services. We are leveraging Akka, Play,Solr, Spark, Cassandra and Kafka as the foundation of our platform. The implementation will be primarily built in Scala. We are a headless, cloud- native, SaaS based platform providing a one-stop-shop for everything a retailer needs to run their business on the technology front.


What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, deliver solutions with engineers, conduct User Acceptance Testing, and provide post-production support.

  • Design and build UpStart Commerce solutions using industry best practices

  • Manage integrations with third-party applications/platforms

  • Perform configurations to meet business requirements

  • Ensure data integrity in UpStart Platform and related systems


What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years of retail commerce architecture, Solution Design, and Product Management experience.

  • Experience with various enterprise commerce solutions

  • Exposure to sales processes and tools ideally in the retail/e-commerce industry.

  • We're looking for someone who drives to deadlines, anticipates and addresses conflicts, negotiates well, and delivers great outcomes.

  • Energized by complex problems and find satisfaction in solving them through a mixture of curiosity, analysis and resourcefulness.

  • Flexibility - open to change, doing what it takes to get the best outcomes, comfortable with ambiguity and change in a fast-paced environment

  • Good verbal and written communication skills for delivering non-technical presentations that influence business partners and upper management.

  • Pride yourself on the quality of work and are a stickler for the details. Demonstrates self-management and initiative.    

  • Ability to interact with business stakeholders, manage expectations, and deliver projects

  • Play a key role in driving strategic projects and analyzing a variety of business problems while working with cross-functional teams.

  • Identify reporting gaps that drive business improvement and develop automated reporting tools to drive actionable results.

  • Analyze industry best practices and conduct competitive research to influence long term changes to business strategy.

  • Quickly and efficiently run Ad-Hoc analysis to support leadership decision making.
